About Our Union

Our History

We are SMART-TD General Committee 393, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. We are a broad-based, transportation labor union representing 700+ and counting active members.

General Committee of Adjustment GO-393 of the former United Transportation Union (UTU), represents Trainmen, Engineers and Yardmen on the former Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway Company, now the BNSF Railway.

GO-393’s jurisdiction; starts in Northern Texas and extends South into Louisiana.  Includes Gainesville, Fort Worth, Longview, Sweetwater, Temple, San Antonio, Houston, Galvaston, Beaumont, Silsbee and Lafayette, LA.

The General Committee office is charged with handling grievances, agreement enforcement and construction of new agreements.  These issues are progressed to our office via our Local Chairpersons, who are on the front lines every day; working hard for the membership.
